The fallacy of the Waffen-SS

It is preferable for many to concentrate on the military accomplishments of the Waffen-SS only. What cannot be denied is the fact that the entire Waffen-SS as an organisation engaged in systemic genocide on the Eastern Front.
It is only now that some authors are having the courage to write books that catalogue the crimes committed after the hundreds of books that had focused purely on the military history of the Waffen-SS.
I would suggest that the crimes of the Waffen-SS were carried out at the strategic, operational and tactical level by its members.
I see that a new book by James Pontillio is coming out which looks to be an excellent reference to the massive crimes committed by the Waffen-SS.
