The most decorations, ribbons, medal on a WW2 German uniform

Hi,

Does anyone know which German soldier in WW2 had the most decorations, campaign schields & cuff titles, orders, foreign orders & decorations, ribbons, medals pinned together to his uniform? (Oh please don't tell me Red Army generals whom I knew had a huge amount of medals and orders pinned to their unfiorm, check the picturs of Koniev, Zhukov, Leonid Brezhnev and you get what I mean)

So far, the candidate I know would be Luftwaffe General Ernst Kupfer but I am not sure. I saw his studio picture with all his decorations and it seems quite "a lot"

Anyone got any idea?

Thanks
Panzermahn

I don't know who had the most but I can count at least 17 being worn by General Frithjof Hammerstein-Gesmond.

Impressive! He would have needed a back brace just to be able to stand up straight. :D

General Dr. Edmund Glaise von Horstenau seems to have his fair share too! 14 medals on the bar, 5 different neck orders, 4 breast orders and 1 sash order.

How are you ?

Could the "Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross" be awarded for the second time as an independent medal, to the same person ? I am not asking about those who got “upgrades”, like from “Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross” to “Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves”, or from “Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves” to “Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords”.
Thank you.

No, only once. If one was not awarded a KC, for example Hitler didn't agree the proposal, one could get a '2nd chance', a soldier could be proposed to be awarded a KC. Tankcommander Kurt Knispel never got one, though he was three times mentioned to Hitler for his actions. He died without a KC after destroying 163 tanks...
