Hello to everyone on the forum and thanks for letting me join.
I'm a Scot living in London and as an ex soldier, I was with the Gordon Highlanders for 13 years, I have an interest in military history most notably the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS. I look forward to contributing, if I can, and learning from other forum members.
Thanks again

Welcome! I've become chums with several former and active squaddies on another site. Right colourful lot you are!
Poke around, ask questions, but I strongly urge a forum search for your questions. There are damned few that haven't already been asked!!

Interested in sharing/learning of Wehrmacht & WWII POWs in UK
Hi. My name is Scott. Thanks for reading my first post on this forum. I look forward to reading what you and others shared in the forums.
Why I'm in Feldgrau forums:
Why I'm in Feldgrau forums:
- In 1938, my German grandfather was conscripted into the Wehrmacht 79 Infantry Division.
In 1944, during Operation Wellhit in German Occupied Boulogne, France he was captured a POW by Canadians.
Captive until 1948 in UK POW Camp, after he was released, he journeyed home to post-war Badden-Wurttemburg, Germany.
In 1948, my grandfather journeyed back to wife (my grandmother) and two young children (my mom and uncle) who resented his "taking charge" of family after 10 years disappeared while fighting war and POW camp.

Hi there. I joined the site earlier today so probably your latest "newbie". Ex-RAF, I'm an amateur aviation historian and volunteer to the International Bomber Command Centre which is being built near Lincoln, England which will open in 2017.
My hobby and other interest is the creation of 3D images created from 2D WW2 aerial reconnaissance images taken by the RAF but I will be looking at the images taken by the Luftwaffe too later this year. If any of you have suggestions as to the web-sites that have Luftwaffe aerial images please let me know in order to put a balance into my 3D collection and portfolio. I create the 3D digital images from wartime 2D photos and project them on to a 3D tablet or create a 3D lenticular.
A current project I'm actively involved with is to understand the Luftwaffe's involvement in "Fall Weiss" during September 1939 and the airfield, aircraft type, aircraft count, squadron, date, target and returning numbers. If you know where I can get that data I would be thankful to you. All the best....

Hello!
This is not my actual name, I just prefer to go by Vil on the internet. I am a German-American and am fascinated by military history, especially that concerning Germany. I do speak perfect German which only ever comes in handy with these things. Other than that I volunteer at an aviation museum and play a lot of historical games.
This seems like a great site and I'm excited to have found it.
