These somber pictures are a little old being from mid-2005, but I think they show both the sacrifice modern Germans are making in the War on Terror as well as some of the traditional elements of their military that still remain some 60 years after the end of WWII.

Nice photo's. I presume they are carrying K98's? Little fuzzy there, also, their belt buckles look very similar. Good to see some traditions being carried on.
Slightly OT, but, in the first pic, check out the guy third from the left...his belt is all over the place. A day in the guardroom for that man...
