Well, when I am back from my trip we will do so, Richard
5 Euros for the Murawski? Excellent deal, congratulations! A good choice for the fate of the civilians in Pomorania will be Hans Edgar Jahn's Pommersche Passion. The accounts in it are on the same level as the ones in Wilcken's Die große Not

France 1940 is my pet subject. For me it's the most startling tactical victory of the 20th Century (with the Six Day War). Of course, having incompetent opponents probably helps...
I'll post my Breslau bibliography shortly so that if anyone wants to suggest more reading material they can (as long as it is in German or English; sadly I don't read Russian )

Not in the slightest. You got there first go for it! I'm sure you'll have different angles from me. I'm likely to focus on the Baltic coast - Konigsberg, Kolberg, Danzig and Hela chiefly.
My heart sank a couple of years ago when I heard Antony Beevor was working on a Normandy book. Given his success with Stalingrad and Berlin, I feared his work would simply obliterate mine, which would sit on the shelves unsolved.
As it turned out, he was working on Leningrad...

Even though Richard just apparently slandered two of my favorite German Divisions:

I have to wish him the best of luck in his projects. A true historian, like my friends Prit and Richard, should never be discouraged on an Axis Board!!!
...Although I sincerely fear that Richard may never respect me if I don't pursue the histories of Muncheberg and Kurmark, just to prove him wrong!!
Bestens,
David

Oh say, I don't want anyone to take my last post seriously. Richard's a great guy and, out of envy, I decided to pick on him, knowing he'd probably forgive me in the end.....

David,
I've always found that if it doesn't exist, go ahead and write it.
I made that decision in 1992. Only took me 14 years to do book number one. Oh the rashness of youth...
The weird thing is neither book which I've written is the one I intended to write. The same goes for all the other books I'm hoping to write. If someone had told me a dozen years ago I'd be writing this, this and this I've have thought they'd escaped from the funny farm...

Blitzkrieg Unleashed is now, er, unleashed. Should be on general release in the UK in the next few days. I hope it lives up to everyone's expectations.
