id needed on heer decal

this is my first post,sorry if its in the wrong section....i have an ns66 heer double decal helmet,with a small decal saying in french "pique hardiment"it also has the cross of lorraine...ive been stumped by this for 20yrs..is it free french?but why havent the german decals been removed..or possibly a french german decal from the alcase loraine region...its similar to IV./L.G.1 (Stuka)...please help.i would like to research the units history ..this is a link to axis history forum where theres a pic http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=121592

Sounds like an interesting variant.

There are two books on German helmets ("German Helmets 1933-45")
put out by Terry Goodapple, William Maertz and Ron Weinand at POB 323, Quincy, Illinois, USA 62306-0323. Maybe they have a website by now.
