My grandfather was gassed at Ypes and died, at the age of 48, as a result.

It's always amazed me that, after "The War to End All Wars", the nations of Europe could have ended up in yet another one 21 short years later.

And, yes, I do know the reasons why WWII happened, but after the endless bloodbath of WWI it still puzzles me. :?
