can anyone help me on how to download a picture i have of my grandfather to this web site? need someone to look at shoulder patches so i can find out what unit he was in. thanhs BERNHARD

You need to upload your pictures to an image hosting website such as:

http://photobucket.com/

You will need to register first. Once you have uploaded your pictures to this website/server you can then use/paste the URL or HTML tags to post a picture in a new tread. I suggest you use the bottom tag (IMG) it works fine in Feldgrau.

It's free, quick, no registration required.
All you have to do is browse through the files on your harddrive/cd etc.
choose the correct image and then press "Host it"

Once hosted copy the "Direct link to image" and paste between the
tags here in your message.

Thanks Michael. It seems to be a very good free image hosting site. It took me less than three minutes to go there and host this image.

Only problem is that the image is not showing up here. Maybe, being a German site, they have a special Nazi Filter.

Ah, I am using Safari, which is the Mac replacement for Explorer. I will try something else. Thanks, Michael.

Maybe this thread should be made a sticky.

I am sure it would help alot of people + it gives a good range of image hosting sources.

I am not sure which section it would go in though. I guess its up to Jason to decide if it should be or can a Mod do it?

The picture is linked properly, it seems the host does not allow "hot linking" however so that people have to go to the site and they can expose you to what they are selling....
