Coastal Command Losses Vol.1 does indeed cover the
aircraft
in which Sgt McNabb was lost, so I hope you don't now
feel
you've wasted your money! (You shouldn't, it's a fine
book.)

The details are: Hudson I P5128 (UA-H) of 269Sqn,
based at
Wick, took off at 1007 on a "Bert" (Bergen to
Stavanger) Patrol.
Information was received through the Air Ministry that
according
to a German broadcast, P5128 was shot down by Ltn
Weyergand of 1(Z)/JG77 and that it crashed into the
North Sea
35km (c 21.5 miles) SW of Stavanger at 1348hrs, also
that none
of the crew could be rescued.

The crew, all commemorated at Runnymede, was
42450 Plt Off E A Tingey
754446 Sgt R W Baker
628246 Sgt H D McNabb
935544 Sgt E Cottingham

"Der erste Abschuss der Staffel ließ in diesen ersten Tagen nicht lange auf sich warten und wurde am 8. Februar 1941 um 13.48 Uhr von Lt. Weyergang, erzielt. Das Feindflugzeug, eine Lockheed-Hudson, führte zu dieser Zeit einen Angriff auf deutsche Schiffe durch."

Leutnant Dietrich Weyergang was born on 16.07.1918 in Aschersleben and wass killed in action on 05.07.1941 at Titowka Lizabuch 7km west Nordwestspitz.

His remains are not yet recovered and must be still in Litsa (Liza/Russia).

He wass shot down by AA-fire (air defense of Vayengi) together with Uffz. Kurt Tigges flying a Bf110 C-4. I think this is near Murmansk / Kola-Bay.

I believe that the aircraft was exported to England in the 90's.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you mind if I ask where you were able to get that?

Also, do you have name?? Other than the online one. Even just your first name.
