Latvian Auxillary SS - uniform verification

Post by Spankeem »

I recently purchased online a Latvian SS uniform. I dont have pics at the moment, but the Latvian coloured shield was on the left sleeve, it had the collar tab for concentration camp guards and an SS rune sewed on the left hand pocket.

Does anyone know of or have a publication that details Latvian uniforms and perhaps which may help me verify its authenticity?

Sounds 100% bogus.

Oh well - we do come across them. Apart from your helpful conclusion do you have any tips that may help me with its verification?

Hi there, I live in Auckland NZ as well. I am in the process of joining the Historical Re-enactment society at the moment.
It sounds like a interesting uniform even if it isn't 100% authentic.
Sorry I can't offer any help.
