What sort of treatment did the Hitler's Youths receive when they were captured by the Red army? Were they sent to Siberia with other German units or were they merely returned home?

While the youth were fighting they were shot at and killed just like any other soldier. When captured I have read 2 different versions.
1) Sent to POW cages with the rest.
2) Depending on the age, some were just dis-armed and sent home (Most likely with a smack on the ass) My own brackets

Most of the HJ were killed before they got captured. Check out Anthony Beevor's Berlin: He states that the Russians tried to kill the young boys, because of their great fanaticism.

Yes. HJ battalions members didn't let the commanders of Festung Breslau surrender on April 1945. Then group of officers goes to talk with Russians HJ members forced them to stay and fight to the end.
