A friend of mine has a relative that served in World War II. This is the information he gave me:
Wish I had more information about my father-in-law, but the family talked very little about the war, and he only did so when he got roaring drunk with fellow vets. All we know is that he went in to the Pioneer Corps and was attached to a Waffen SS Panzer Division. His unit did spend some time in Denmark prior to D Day, then headed south where he was captured by the French (or was turned over to the French). He spent the rest of the war and 4 or 5 years into the post war period doing forced labor on a farm in southern France. The name is Heinrich Rheinhardt.
Would anyone have additional information on this person and perhaps know which unit he could have served in? Any leads or input will be appreciated.
