okay thanks lads thats much clearer (just about!)

I had no idea there were so many different types of police units inside the reich at that time.

Herr Doktor was right though the main emphasis in this book is the 'security' operations that op battalian 101 took part in. The book by the way is entitled 'ordinary men ' and it reads more like an extended essay really informative but not very exciting.

anyway thanks again everyone foir your replies this subject (however confusing) is definatley worth a deeper look-in
