Feld-FAS 40 (Ost) was not on the list of units surrounded in Stalingrad. As for the Lw.-Feldkpn./9. Flakdiv., I think some were and some weren't.

Hi Lorenz,

thank You!

It seems that F-FAS 40 can be identical with the FAS AOK 6. And it is clear that III/FAS II cannot be. That's much better than were I was before starting this thread, thanks!

Best,

Abel

Greetings!

Have located an organizational diagram of the III./FAS dated 13 July 1942 (Anlage zu 9. Flakdivision (mot), Führ.Gr. Ia, Br.B. Nr. 3004/42 g.Kdos.)

It consists of
— Headquarters plus 1 20-ton Flak-Colomn
— 1. Bttr. with 9×3.7cm guns
— 2. Bttr. with 3×3.7cm guns (mot); 3×2cm Vierling guns (mot); 3×2cm guns (mot); 3×2cm guns (selp-propelled)
— 3. Bttr. with 3×? guns (self-propelled); 6×? guns (mot). [1]

[1] The symbols for these 9 guns is similar to the 3,7cm symbol, but has an additional (i.e. 2) arrow at the bottom, see diagram attached.

Any ideas what these guns might be?
Leo
