The Luftwaffe field divisions have received a well justified lashing on this site recently as largely unjustifiable wastes of resources.
However, what about the junior parachute divisions formed from January 1943 onwards (i.e. those from 3rd up)?
Did they perform any better than an army infantry division might have been expected to perform in any of their actions?
I am not looking for a record of all their actions, only evidence that their parachute status reflected more than a mere title.
Many thanks,
Sid.
Were junior German parachute divisions better than average?
