Post by Christoph K »

Hello Everyone,

A am looking for info on the story of how the SMS Emden's Landing party escaped from Austrialia, the SMS Emden being sunk by HMS Sydney and then travelled 4,300 miles to Turkey. Does anybody have some infos?
Thanks,

Hello,

I've got that book, too, but it's not handy. As I recall, the landing party was not in Australia, but on an island. They were able to hijack another ship (the Alesha? something like that) and were able to make it home. The whole thing reads like a "Boys Own" adventure. I'll see what I can find later.
Cheers,

Patrick

When I was single, I had three theories on raising children. Now I have three children and no theories.

I have both books at hand

Kapitänleutnant von Mücke

Book 1: Emden
Book 2: Ayesha

But maybe you should get a copy yourself: I think it is worth reading:
