I love WWII and play many games about it. And now I have a list of the best ones around.
Hearts of Iron -Based on a HUGE level. With its smallest unit being a division, you command everything about the country you choose. HUGE GAME, and very strategic orientented. Could for those ppl who want to recreate WWII's operations and battles on a division and higher level command
Call of Duty -Very good FPS, with great graphics. Pretty good maps, ok weapons. SP is the best. MP is pretty good, but lacks a little
Medal of Honor -Ok FPS. Arcade style almost, good maps. weapons, but very simplistic realism.
Battlefield 1942 -Very Arcade, Mediocre weapons model, pretty good maps, good for those who like to use combined arms. Lots of vehicles and ships to use.
If you have any more or have comments please tell me as I wouldl like to know
Danke

[7th Fallschirmjager Division] *Call of Duty*
hi
i think it depends on what you want from a game,do you want realisim strategy and hours of thinkig or just grabing yıour rifle and start blowin tihngs up being a one man army.
hearts of iron is a great game.its just lovley i spend my hours and days with it.it sould be played.
moh and cod are fun i quess.after all you get to kill hordes of soldiers and destroy hunderds of tanks.pesonally i would like a more realistic game.
battlefield 1942 is fun
.not reaisltic ore something. fun.it shuldnt be played against bots!no way!play it online and you will have real fun.

close combat series, yay! thats what i want from a game,!its good, realistic, fun and all.its BEA-U-TI-FULL it should be played(cc3 is my favorite)
Day of defeat,a very good game.must be played, but must be played online not against bots.its just lovlely, cod or moh have good mp modes.but its much better in dod since you can employ squad based tactis better.

Miniatures are part of the reason why I don't play computer games. (the other is that I'm a software developer and get sick of looking at screens).
I have a large basement play room and set up battles as the mood takes me. (working my way through the twin villages:Rocherath/Krinkelt now) Takes a long time to set up but very compelling when done. I find I do a lot of pacing and thinking before I actually set up any pieces.
I occasionally have kids over from the church school (or neighbors) and give them a little tour with a history lesson.
If they are very young I give them a toy soldier set from my spare parts box. (It consistantly shocks my wife when I say "I'm goin' downstairs to swap some heads!")
My big one last year was Waterloo. I love the look of the massed cavalry charge!
cheers
