Re American Indians. Yes you can find them on the reservations - or anywhere else! Most Americans you'll find are proud to have some Indian blood from one tribe or the other.
Their success with Casinos has certainly put them back on track economically as well.
Just my 2 cents

Bring East Prussia Back To the Fatherland
A little anecdote. My freind (also named Mike) is from Poland. I asked him if he had any stories from the war handed down to him. The only one he has is that to this day his family hates Russia and Russians. In the later part of the war when the Russians were advancing through Poland, my friend's Grandfather helped a wounded German soldier. When the Russians came he tried to hide him in his barn. The Russians found the German and shot the German and his Grandfather.Musashi wrote: Its true, the Soviets did not apologize for such incidents, but they didn't murdered so many Poles.
His Grandmather almost disowned his parents when they named their daughter Natashia because it sounds too Russian.
I had a Polish friend in Los Angeles who had served in the Polish, German and Russian Armies - they all stuck him in their armies as they came along.
He finally ended up in the Communist Polish Navy and together with the rest of his crew - defected and came to the US.
He respected the German Army for its order and organization, but detested the Russians with a passion. He never would go into too many details and always started using a lot of cuss words if I asked too many questions. Nice fella though - just had a rough time.
Note that this is obviously anecdotal and says nothing in the big picture.
cheers

finished waiting
all right. Almost a week gone, and as documented above, the patience of some Feldgrau contributors seems already exhausted (by my posts, this is to say). My patience is not yet, but let's comply with the vox populi.Der Untermensch wrote:four days gone... about to finish waiting... about to assume the above complies with the Feldgrau rules...Der Untermensch wrote:two days gone... keep waiting... still...Der Untermensch wrote:one day gone... keep waiting...Der Untermensch wrote:Feldgrau FAQ:HunterSeeker wrote:Germany should ask Poland and Russia to return the land of East Prussia back under German control. I understand the post initiating this thread is well within the Feldgrau standards - the admin has neither banned the author nor removed the post nor locked the thread.
If these are the acceptable Feldgrau standards, than I am going to comply with them (and you thought I would just walk away?). When reading the posts I am going to place, please do not complain to me that they are
orabusive
orslanderous
orhateful
orthreatening
orintolerant
or evenreactionary
I think I have left enough time to clarify what is abusive and what is not (even more time than some posters can stand). Having this clear, I think there is no reason I should fear getting banned.sexually-oriented

come on and take it
so, you want to give Ostpreußen to Germany... My suggestion is you first consult the Germans, at least those living in Germany. You know, some of them had their bones trashed already, their cities levelled, and their women raped. Maybe they will not fancy this again.HunterSeeker wrote:Germany should ask Poland and Russia to return the land of East Prussia back under German control. Because East Prussia has been separated from the Fatherland for more than half a century long. Germany should use all necessary ACTION to defend her Sovereignty.
But regardless of the above, you are free to get out of the USA and come to Ostpreußen. It is nice you publish these declarations in the web, but a personal example is the best way forward, I can tell you. I will be greeting you here. Moreover, I will kindly allow you to take some Ostpreußen with you and carry it across the Oder. How much Ostpreußen? Well, as much as you can carry with you. Hope you have large pockets. And on top of what you can carry with you, I will have a special gift for you (a surprise one, you know).
Where shall we meet? Well, there is lots of places which might be relevant for such a historical transaction.
Frauenburg dome im ganzen Land ihr schönstes Haus – great view from the tower, I can tell you, some elderly tourists speaking a foreign language I have once met there were overwhelmed
besterhaltene mittelalterliche Bauwerk in Preußen in Heilsberg – so carefully crafted and looked after by the art-sensitive local population
imposing concrete bunker near Rastenburg - slighly newer than mittelalterliche, unfortunately a bit punctuated since July 1944
Heiligelinde cloister - so much beloved by the local gläubliger Katholiken
Goldap, founded in 1565 by Prince Albrecht – stone bridges nearby are imposing
Abstimmungsdenkmal near Treuburg – to certify for ever
großten Markplatz Deutschlands in Treuburg – still quite huge, if not even larger, since some houses have somehow disappeared
Abstimmungsdenkmal in Allenstein – the Wir bleiben Deutsch inscription is so touchy!
the Kaizer monument in front of the Johannisburg Rathaus - erected by the faithful Volk
Denkmal des Reichgründers in Johannisburg – unfortunately the followers did not quite keep pace with the Gründers
Bismarck monument in front of the Johannisburg Rathaus – what an imposing figure!
Haupstadt Masurens Lyck – still the capital
Neidenburg castle - where ohne die Neidenburger Rittertürme hätte ich vielleicht die Geschichte der Stadt Rom im Mittelalter nicht geschrieben (Gregorovius)
Tatarenstein near Neidenburg - where barbarian hordes were so bravely repulsed
another Kaiser monument in Neidenburg – slightly trivial, but do not say this aloud
das Herz Masurens Lötzen – is it still beating?
where the Sensen legend began in Sensburg – is the legend still alive?
Wapplitz cementery - where in 1914 the barbarian Cossack hordes were decimated at such a high cost by those who still rest there
bekanntesten Schiffswerften der Welt in Elbing – by the way, later on they switched manufacturing to SdKfz
beloved Wilhelm II majolikas near Cadinen – look out, fragile
der Stammsitz des Deutschen Ordens, Marienburg – you can buy yourself a wooden sword or make a photo with two handsome Ritters in full combat gear, lots of sexy German teens do so
military barracks in Stuhm – still what they used to be, can you believe it!
Bunelka-Hohe near Lyck - where the grateful ones celebrated their brave defenders
die Pforte zu Masuren Angerburg – the Pforte was wide open in Jan 45
Ehrenfriedhof by Schwenzaitsee near Angerburg – what a breathtaking view
Samsonov Stein monument in the Willenbark woods – the place where the poor man acknowledged German superiority and shot himself in the head
Winrich von Kniprode castle in Rhein – how powerful!
the Nikolaiken bridge above König der Fische – but even the Fish King preferred to dive in when the Soviets came
marketplace of Ortelsburg, completely destroyed in 1914 - but rebuilt later on (unfortunately, complelety destroyed again afterwards)
Graf York Jägerkaserne in Ortelsburg – ever tried to count where the guys who stationed there finished their service?
Älteste Stadt Masurens Passenheim – a great testimony to the region’s history
No, all that is not good... I think I found another the place.
Tannenbergdenkmal in Hohenstein - immer lebendig bleibt unser Gedenken an die Heimat und an die Menschen, die in ihrer Erde ruhen.
Let’s meet there, by the entrance to the Hindenburg Tower, as pictured below.

You might find difficult to find it among the bushes and the debris, but I am sure you will manage. Will be waiting. The timing is to be decided. What about August 22 12:00? Hope you will sort out the visa by then. By the way, you know why August 22? Alternatively, January 21 would be another suggestion.
and do not chicken out, my friend! The Ostpreußen is all yours to take!
