I've had this helmet for many years and have always been interested in whether it's an original or not. From reading Baer's "The History of the German Steel Helmet 1916-1945", the stampings and markings on the helmet and liner appear to be original. If this is indeed an original helmet, can anyone comment on the helmet decals, as to their originality and what formation they're from?

Decals
Hello,
In my opinion, both decals are fakes, sorry. The runes decals dosn't look correct, size and shape is incorrect, and not proportioned right. The skull decal was never issued by any of the German forces, but that symbol I believe was hand painted in some cases.
