SS. Ausbildungs & Ersats Btls. Holland sept 44?

Post by Ruud Wilmsen »

In sept 44 SS Ausb. & Ers. Btls were stationed in Holland and played a major part in defeating 1 UK Para Division in Arnhem.

These were 4 Pz Gren Ausb. & Ers. Btl in Ede
16 Pz Gren Ausb. & Ers. Abt in Arnhem
V/SS-Art.AuE.Rgt. (Schwappacher
SS-Pz.Gr.Ausb. & Ers. Btl. 12 Arnhem (june 44) 2500 men?

Does someone know more about these units.
LXXXIII A.O.K. mentions some of these units in coastal defense in aug 44
SS Btl Eberwein , Delfs, Mattush, Schulz, Oelkers and Krafft.

I think these Btls were Kampfgruppen put together from different companies of these Ausb. und Ersatz Btls
Does someone know more about the composition of these Kampfgruppen.

I am arriving rather late to this thread, but I need to mention that there is some information in the T314, R1626, 63289/5 anlagen data, starting on frame 625, and referenced at points through the entire set.

What I havnt found, was an indication of equipment.

Thanks MadDog

however this is not a personell strenght report
Its an order to forward 2000 personell ersatz for the 1 SS Pz Korps fighting in Normandy
I can't make up the date however.

T314, R1626, 63289/5 anlagen data"
Are these records part of a KTB ?

I'm still interested in records on SS Ausb &Ers Units in Holland 1944
They played a mayor role in the Market Garden operation which still isn't very clear because organic units were put together as Kampfgruppen.

Best regards

It would probably help if I could read German : )

This is from the anlagen to the KTB. I am in the process of putting it all into PDF format. PM me if you want it.

thanks,
