254. Infanterie Division 1940/1941

Post by Landsverk »

Hello!

I have tried to locate information on the whereabouts of this division during 1940 and 1941. I have only found out that it was in Holland in May 1940 and later in Estonia in the autumn of 1941.

Can anyone share any more light on this division;
- what was it's route through Holland?
- tasks in 1941?
- isn't there a divisions historical published on this unit?

I have tried to find sources which deals with the division, but have not succeeded in finding one as of yet.

Please help!

Yours,
Thorleif Olsson

The route of the 254th in 1940 was as follows:

Advance through Uden, Hertogenbosch, Waalwijk, south of Dordrecht, over Houthoulst, Ypren, Hazebrouk to the coast in the region of Berck. Later coastal security duties.

If you check the following resource and type in the number of the unit in question you will find all books written about this (or any other) unit.

http://www.feldgrau.com/UnitBios-search.html

So far the listing only lists one title on the 254th.
