Apologies MattL.... wasn't very clear you and Ron delivered pretty impartial and sound info....

whereas the poxy net (spent reading 40-50 articles on Ferds).... most took the easy route out and repeated the old sore.... no MG = deathtrap against infantry....

Most of the stuff was highly derivative.... mainly looked if it had been hacked and pasted....

whereas your stuff was hot..... the real deal..... didn't smell of bs...

Elephants on the rampage

"If you do the math then the kill ratio was 43 FERDINANDS to 654 Soviet tanks or 1 to 15.21. Not bad for a panzer without a machinegun. From 16 December 1943 to 10 January 1944, schwere Panzerjäger-Regiment 656 was transported to Austria since they were desperately in need of a complete overhaul."

I've seen fag packet maths and the results range from 9 or 15 to 1 Ferds.

Does anyone have an idea of the composition of these 654 tanks....
were they all T34s?

Interesting. Would it be to much to ask for confirmation of the loss figures and also the number of Russian tanks damaged but not destroyed?
Perhaps it should be noted that raw claims were reduced by 50% for collation purposes so is this 600+ figure the raw claim or the adjusted one?
