Question about Nachtrag zur Tagesmeldung

Post by John Winner »

This is part of the Nachtrag zur Tagesmelddung vom 9.7.44
I have no idea what all the letters and numbers in section h stand for and I would really like to be able to read this properly. Any help with this would be helpful, perhaps a full list of all the letters used in this section so if I run across one not on this report I won't have to ask later.

If I am not mistaken, those are AFV or gun codes. For example, "C2" is a Mk IV (long) and a P is a 75mm PAK.

Does anyone know if there is a list of these AFV/gun codes?

I am attempting to compile a list by compairing Meldung and Nachtrag zur Tagesmeldung. I only have a limited number of I only have a few KTB to work with (LXXXI, LXXXVIII, and PZ.AOK.5) to work with so any assistance would be helpful. I will post my finding soon.

[rummage rummage]

This is what I have so far, mostly taken from Niklas Zetterling's Normandy book. No guarantees I am correct:

B2=BEFS III LG
C1=PZ.IV KZ
C2=PZ.IV LG
FC2=BEFS IV LG
D=PANTHER
F=BEFS TIGER
FD=BEFSPANTHER
D OR D1=BERGEPANTHER
E=TIGER
J=STURMPANZER
K2=STUG III LG
N=JGPZ IV
Q=PAK43 OF PAK43/41
P=PAK 40

I guess the only thing I can add at the moment is: S (either S: or S - ) denotes short term repair, T ( T: or T - ) denotes long term repair. These two will probably be followed by repeats of the same AFV/gun codes already used for the unit and a number.

ps Sorry about the weird wording in my previous post, the kids were fighting :?
