Waffen-SS

It is generally admitted that the name "Waffen-SS" was systematically used from March 1940. I found this document, dated from December 1938 which clearly sets the different units within this organization. t=0]0507.jpg[/attachment]

So I suppose the typist made an error because the SS-Verfügungsdivision, the SS-Totenkopf-Division and the SS-Polizei-Division did not exist in 1938 ! I guess this document should have been created in December 1939. As John P. Moore wrote it in a previous post, errors are frequently met among the numerous files. In these conditions, a careful analysis of each document has to be systematically undertaken.

I was going to suggest what you stated, that the real date must be 1939, when the SS-V, Totenkopf, and Polizei Divisionen were created. Still, it is a fine document to see, so thanks for sharing it.
