im reading campagne in Rusland by Leon degrelle a 2nd hand book i picked up in a store hardcover (linnenwoven),goes about the stride and struggle of him and his w-ss Wallonien,a little book about 350 pages i think.the problem is there are not so many books in dutch,so to keep up with you guys i would have to read some english written books, and then stuff gets lost in translation :-)

Occasionally pops up on ebay (last time it went for over 200 €). It's a huge lever-arch file affair, rather than a book per se. Runs to over 2,000 pages.
There's a pdf version of it which the Windhund division site was selling a few years back, but no longer is evidently- the webmaster never responded to the e-mails I sent him.

I'm reading Wilhem Tieke's "Das Ende Zwischen Oder und Elbe, der Kampf um Berlin 1945".

Re: What do you read at the moment?
Excellent Volume, after Venghaus the best book on the Berlin battle 1945
My actual reading:
Immer wieder Nahkampf-Ein Träger der Nahkampfspange in Gold erinnert sich,
The memories of the NSKiG-Holder Franz Schmid of 17.Pz.Div., edited by Ingo Möbius
Avaibale on cimm.de

I think I have heard about that one...The mammoth history of 16 (mot) Infanterie Division (Windhund division).

Re: What do you read at the moment?
Well, it's a bit disjointed, but the amount of material (over 2,000 pages ) gathered from people and official sources is just staggering. It ends in May 1944 when the division's re-formed as 116 Panzer, so you'll need both books for a complete history.Imad wrote:Really? Re: What do you read at the moment?
There's been some interesting discussions on that in the WW1 fora, Helmut, and the other weighed in to an argument on the AHF. Sadly I don't know enough about the Kaiser's Army or the List Regiment to say whether Weber's right or wrong, but I certainly found it interesting.
Just arrived in the post this morning, Ulf Balke's Der Luftkrieg in Europa, a slightly misleading title for a stunning two-volume history of KG2 jam-packed with first-hand accounts. Quality.
