I believe that multiculturalism has been an utter failure not only in Germany but many
other countries including Canada and England. Change is something that always takes

I realize that some of my comments may have been seen as anti- something, or similar.
To set the record straight, I want our members to know that I have no problem with any religion or race.
My father's mother was a jew, so therefor was he; I was not because my mother was not .
As an ex-criminal by association, (Waffen SS member), , I know how it feels to be "profiled".
I guess with old age, not always comes wisdom.
I DO have problems with those who hide behind the "'phobias" screen though, but agree that this forum is not the place to vent feelings about that.
And Annelie ! you are correct, multiculturalism did not work in Europe, and it won't here; so let's hope for the best for the future.

Dass heißt dass meine Mutter ein Kriegskind ist. (Ich habe nicht WAST angeschrieben weil ich nicht so viele Einzelheiten habe.)

Ich weiß dass es immer noch viele Kriegskinder geben, die der suche nach ein Vater nicht aufgegeben haben. Dafür kann ich nur dazu auffordern alle Väter sich zu melden (und dass ist nur als ein positives Ding gemeint). Aber auch von Kameraden zu erzählen, falls sie es gewünscht haben.

Nach dem Krieg war es sehr schwer ein Kind von einem Deutschen Soldaten zu sein (siehe u.a. http://www.krigsboern.dk , „Mindestens zwanzigtausend Kinder haben deutsche Wehrmachtsangehörige in Dänemark und in Norwegen gezeugt. Einige von ihnen waren auch nach Ende des Krieges noch grausamen Repressionen ausgesetzt, die meisten litten 'nur' unter Schande und Scham, vielen wurde die Herkunft verschwiegen und bis in die 80er-Jahre hinein war ihnen der Zugang zu ihren Akten verwehrt. Weil die Mütter so Stigmatisiert (und oft auch traumatisiert) waren, wollte sie ganz oft gar nichts über der Vater erzählen. Und die Kinder konnte erst der suche beginnen nach der Tot der Mutter.

It is fantastic to see that there still is weterans of WWII here. I hope that you do not find my post here inappropriate.

My grandfather was in the Kriegsmarine and I am trying to find him or his family. I have been trying for a while, in this forum search.php?search_id=egosearch and other places http://www.krigsboern.dk/efterlysninger ... ning3.htm. That means that my mother was a child of war (I haven’t asked at WAST because I do not have a lot of details, yet)

I know that there still a lot of Kriegskindern (children of war) looking for their father. Therefore, can I only apel to all fathers of Kriegskinder that they “turn themselves in” (this is only meant in a very friendly way). And also to tell about old Kameraden, if they had wanted their children to know.

After the war, it was very difficult to be a child of a German soldier. See eg. here http://www.krigsboern.dk (mostly in Danish and German) and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_children

The mothers were stigmatised (and often traumatised as well) and therefore they often didn’t want to tell about the father. The children could not begin the search before their mother had died.

I last heard from Rudi last August 2010 - he had moved to the area outside of Orlando, Florida and he seemed to be in quite good health and cheer at the time (he said he was still doing OK in spite of his "advanced youth" stage) and I hope he still is!

thanks for your concern.
Yes, I am still around and plan to be for a while.
I'd like to wish all of you also a Happy Easter! Idon't know for certain, but I believe that I have you informed that we have been living in Florida (near Disney World) for 2 years.
Healthwise, I am still doing so-so, but thanks to the good doctors I have, I still plan to make it to 100 (God willing).
