I have recently acquired some personal effects from a Medic with a Luftwaffe Regiment
I would love to find out more about the individuals mimiltary career and the Units movements but am not sure where to start
I did find an organisation in Germany but they wanted written permission from the individuals next of kin
Any help or pointers would be most appreciated

What information can you glean from the artifacts themselves? Name, unit or Feldpost numbers?

I have his name, date of birth, number and regimental details
Just thought it would be interesting to find out the hisotry of his military career

Well, if you can track down his regiment, that's a good start. In researching the regiment, you might even stumble across his name. Go for it!

Can anyone advise what this represents

The trouble is knowing somewhere to start.
Is it worth looking in the Bundesarchiv for information as i know there are links to some researchers who you can pay to source info.

My suggestion is that you start by putting all the information you have now on this post. Eg Name, Regiment, rank etc. that way we can start be pointing you in the right direction. A lot of us have been to Bundesarchiv so with the initial information you proivde - you might be surprised that we already have it - save you the trip.

THis is the info i have

DOB 30.11.1915, Karlsbad

I have attached scans of the passes i have and a letter which i believe is confirmation of his true german blood.

I am just shooting out the door to go to work. But you can see from his pass in 1938 that he was a Kanonier (lowest rank for an Artilleryman - flak or ground). So this means he was most likely a gun number on a Flak gun. However in 1943 he has the rank of San. Uffz (Sanitater Unteroffizier). So this means he was a Corporal Medic (nearest equivilient) - so he must of down a medic's course between 1938 and 1943. I would say closer to 1943 as he still has a low rank. I will have a good look at the documents later tonight when I get hoime.
