Hello. I am new to the forum but hoping there may be someone who can assist.
I am an archaeologist researching a landing craft sunk by the Luftwaffe on 30th or 31st May 1941 in far Western Crete. The attacking plane or one of its accompanying aircraft was brought down on the beach (no pilot casualty) and was able to still use its gun (if that is possible)-eye witness report. It seems we may have the aircraft wreckage. Wondering if anyone has knowledge of or access to German flight records/diaries etc that would help with the identification of plane type or even the individual aircraft. Thanks to all
