I'm trying to properly caption a photo and would greatly appreciate some help in identifying which type(s) of Iron Cross this soldier is wearing. The photo was taken in Janury 1945.
Thank you for the help. . .

Re: Iron Cross Question
Hello Stephan,
From what I can see in the photo this individual is wearing an EKII ribbon in his buttonhole, an EKI, Infantry Assault Badge and what appears to be either a Silver or Gold Wound Badge. There may also be another ribbon above the EKI but it's not clear in the photo.
Hope this helps.

Re: Iron Cross Question
Simon - Thank you, it does. You confirmed my thoughts.
Re: Iron Cross Question
First choice for the ribbon above the EKI would be the Ostmedaille. Perhaps you can alter the contrast of the picture if it was scanned to confirm?

Re: Iron Cross Question
Simon - thanks for the interest. I'll see if I can adjust the contrast/sharpness. At the time the photo was taken this soldier was among three being awarded the Sniper Badge. . .just adding that extra info in case you think it might be related to the ribbon above the EKI.
Cheers,
Stephan

Re: Iron Cross Question
As far as I know that sniper badge was only worn as a sleeve decoration. There wasn't a ribbon for it.
