Vest Pocket Pistol use?

Is there any evidence that any of the various German Vest Pocket Pistol types (like the 6.35cal Mod 9 Walther, or Mauser WTP-2 etc.) were ever officially issued? If so who would have carried one? Also, what were the regulations in the German Military regarding a soldier having one of these little guns that was privately purchased? Any information would be appreciated.
