Heeresgruppe Nord, "Nordbahn" & "Medwed&q

Hi all!

I've been lately reading the microfilmed H.Gr Nord documents for my research on Nachtslachtgruppe 11, which fought on the area (Luftflotte 1).

Couple of names are giving troubles for me:

There are mentions about battles being concentrated around "Nordbahn". From the context I assume it is Nevel area, but can't be sure. Does anyone here know certainly which railway section H.Gr. NOrd KTB means with the name "Nordbahn".

"Medwed" I am probably doing something wrong, but I just can't find any location in Leningrad & Pskov area with this name. Is it a typo or just so small place it can't be found in normal maps? "Medwed" was one of the targets for Lfl 1 night harrasment units.

Nordbahn is a railway-line.

I think Nordbahn is the railway to Narva.

Hello!

I think I got the Medved. Microsoft Encarta map program shows such location little bit West from Lake Ilmen.

"Nordbahn". Yes it could be the railway to Narva (=North). Would fit to the overall picture too. Wish I could be sure of the thing.
