Hello all!
There are many stories about Adolf Hitler and his service in World War One. There's also many stories that can't be verified or just plain false. I would like to collect (in one thread) all known photographs of Hitler in that war, or for that matter all photographs that connects Hitler in some way with the war. Then members can comment and add on...
So, here's for starters is the very famous photograph that correctly/supposedly shows a 25 year old Adolf Hitler in München, standing in a cheering crowd in the city's Odeonplatz on August 2nd, listening to the announcement that Germany is at war...

Re: Photographs of Adolf Hitler in the Great War
Adolf Hitler, having one year earlier avoided being drafted into Austrian Army service in Linz, wrote a letter on August 3rd, 1914 to the Bavarian King Ludwig III, asking permission to volunteer for German (Bavarian) Army service in the newly started war. His application was granted and on August 16 he entered the Bavarian Army for basic military training. After that he entered Das bayerische Reserve-
Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 16, also known as Regiment List after it's commander.
In this photograph Adolf Hitler is seen with two of his regimental comrades, from left to right Ernst Schmidt, Max Amann and Hitler with the dog Fuchsl. Probably taken in 1915 or later since Hitler is sporting his EK-II ribbon on his uniform. He recieved this award on December 2nd, 1914 and the background of the three comrades seems more like it's spring. Maybe someone knows of an exact date/description for this photograph?

Re: Photographs of Adolf Hitler in the Great War
Another photograph of Adolf Hitler with a group of (probably) regimental comrades. Adolf Hitler (marked X) is sitting first from left. Then it looks like it's Max Amann sitting as third from left with Ernst Schmidt standing first from left (comparing with the previously posted photograph of the three). And it's definitely Fuchsl!
Judging by the background I think it's possible that this photograph was taken at the same time/place as the previous one. The short (1 m.) tree stump looks to be exactly the same in both photographs. If any member has any more information/input on these two photographs, please post...

Re: Photographs of Adolf Hitler in the Great War
So, one of the Waleed pics... This photograph shows Hitler wearing a Pickelhaube and it's probably from ca. 1915. Does anyone have any clues to on what Hitler is resting his hands on? Chair? Sword?
