I am once again Akira Ushijima!!! Fighter pilot, defender of the Homeland and a humble servant of His Imperial Japanese Majesty!!! Below is my favorite mount:
It is my intention, now that we are in 1945, to strike a blow at the cowardly Yankee B-29s that roam the skies of my beautiful and innocent homeland!
I've just returned from flying over Okinawa and have downed many Yankee planes, seeing them fall as dried leaves, burning against the sky! It is my duty to keep you Feldgrauians informed about our heroic struggle against the Yankee Imperialists, their slaves, lackeys and so-called allies.
My one regret is that I haven't encountered a British airplane since 1942! Ah, easy prey those--but better to risk all fighting these silver birds of the USAAF than chasing fleeing British pigeons!
BANZAI!!!!

Ah, a picture of my first victim, running away from my guns before I chopped her wings off! She bore a name on her nose--Katrina! I suppose this name has some significance to the American dogs, but I swarmed upon her like a typhoon and sent her spinning into the sea.
Her crew bailed out, I wheeled around through the smoke of her death and aimed at their parachutes. After all, why fly bravely only to degrade oneself in the end as a disgraced prisoner of war? I showed them a Samurai's mercy....

This will be my diary.
I learned much from my first B-29 kill. It is the sheer size of the beast we fight that is most intimidating. It looms in the air like a metal temple, uprooted from the earth and propelled against us. Its bleak silver color attempts to convince us that in its metallic splendor it is invincible.
A man can only fight such a machine with Heart and Faith. If he lacks either, he is lost and the enemy will win.
I have faith and I have heart. I feel throbbing in my chest with each increase in the howl of my engine as I force my Raiden higher, standing her on her tail to achieve attack altitude.
The best approach is head-on. Should I sell my life in this struggle, I pray to the God-Emperor that my colleagues will read this and fly straight against the nose of the enemy. Its nose is made of glass and that is where its cowardly crew hides from us....

Akira's Diary, Page Two:
This Yankee basta*d made it back to Okinawa, which means I will never receive credit for its destruction, although one of our Shitei's took a perfectly good picture of it.
I will not complain about my lack of recognition--my next victim I will flame over Tokyo, so there needn't be a doubt as to the winner's identity.

Akira Diary Entry Three:
Something must be done about Headquarters' high and mighty attitude towards its pilots! They sleep in blind satisfaction while we risk our lives. If the Emperor only knew of our victories!!

Akira Diary, Entry Four:
I don't give American fighter interference any worry when I'm on a mission against the silver devils. I don't usually make a note. But this one, as my enemy would say, I dropped like a bad habit......
