Good morning riddlers.

It has nothing to do with diving as such....

Here is another clue to the riddle.

Hello Fellow Riddlers!

My two cents (for two of the clues anyhow) goes to the specialized allied tanks, the Churchill VI "Crocodile" Flamethrower tank and the M4A4 Sherman "Crab" Mine flaying tank.

How the Hobo with the dog fit these tanks... well, that beats me for the moment! :(

I'll be back!

Good evening Krollspell.

Yes pictures 1 & 3 represent the specialised tanks you have identified.

The second picture represents the person we're looking for.....

Yes thank you indeed doktor!

Major-General Sir Percy Cleghorn Stanley Hobart KBE CB DSO MC (14 June 1885–19 February 1957), also known as "Hobo", was a British military engineer, noted for his command of the 79th Armoured Division during World War II. He was responsible for many of the specialised armoured vehicles ('Hobart's Funnies') that took part in the invasion of Normandy and later actions.

Yes Major-General Percy Hobart was the person I was looking for. The creator of the special tanks that became known as Hobarts Funnies.

Apparerently he was also a corporal in the Home Guard in 1940!

Thanks again Doktor, you made it easy. And to you Magnus, a good one!

Now for another face. No uniform or much of anything
to reveal his identity. Who is he?

Yes doktor Irian, but not the province of Western New Guinea in this case!
And yes again definitely post-WWII!

So for now we have:
An (to you all for now) unknown WWII hero
and primary target of this riddle.

He was not a flyer and not American.

As a "help" also a prewar politician from ???? and a postwar
Indonesian name which in this case is not the Province.
Who and what is for you to find. It will lead to the hero.

He has already been mentioned on one of these
167 pages and 2495 replies... So go hunting all! :D :D :D

Is this SWIERDŁOW [SVERDLOV] (projekt 68bis) class light cruiser?

And do I sense Polish trail? Something tells me, that "krwawy Felek" has something to do with our polititian :[]

Correct Njorl!

A former east-block SVERDLOV class light cruiser, but which one...
- what has it to do with the politician and Indonesia for that matter?
And what about the mysterious hero of WWII.

More clues to follow - next time from a totally different angle...

waleed

ps. "krwawy Felek"... :?: Don't read Polish and have no idea what/who it is.
If you mean a politician from Poland.... ehh - NO!
