Yes, thats the original russian designation.
When the British fired, the Germans ducked.
When the Germans fired, the British ducked.
When the Americans fired everybody ducked....

This one is from Berlin:

I believe most, if not all, of the first series of pics are from Lauban in march 1945. Goebbels made a speech there in the town square. It was the last big propaganda show he made. He also made a speech there inside of a hall. If you can ever get the movie clip of that, it is a very stirring speech and you can see why he got the job of Propagandaminister. I have the full audio from it. Of course, he was a lying bastard, but a very talented lying bastard.

Good point Frederick. They are definitely of Lauban after its recapture. A fairly well known series of shots, often miscaptioned. Nice late war pictures anyway.

The first Polish site entirely dedicated to the German MKb - MP 43/44 - StG assault rifles. Auch auf Deutsch.

As Frederick has mentioned, this photo was not taken in Berlin. It was taken at Lauban after the Wehrmacht recaptured the town from the Soviets. Goebbels were there to present Iron Cross to a Hitler Youth soldier, Willy Hubener after the latter had destroyed a Soviet tank with panzerfaust.

Antony Beevor's book Berlin had a picture of Goebbels congratulating Hubner on this occasion.
