Post by wehrdoc »

Hello all, i recently purchased a very nice spanish cross from Detlev. It has a name scratched on the ibverse and i would like to try and research this.

Doeds anyone know of a list of recipients? From memory i believe the name was eberl or something similar.

Hello wehrdoc!

The Spanish Cross in Bronze with Swords (for combatants) was presented to 8.462 recipients and the Spanish Cross in Bronze without Swords (for non-combatants) was presentet to 7.869 recipients. I have unfortunately never seen a complete list for all those recipients...

Source for the numbers: John R. Angolia's "For Führer and Fatherland - Military Awards of the Third Reich" (2nd ed. 1985).
