The pictures appear to show a number of German Army POW's being executed.

Thanks Polynike,

I've already posted on Wehrmacht-Awards as well. These could well be Croats rather than German nationals. Although their nationality does not detract from their cruel fate.

Hello Vedran,

Thanks for the information. It will be interesting to hear where this fallen soldiers are laid to rest. Will they go to a Volksbund cemetary or be repatriated elsewhere?

there are still very hard discussions about the number of NDH (Independent State of Croatia) soldier and civilians executed after the war with the number most likely around 100 000. More died after the war then during it

a wooden boot, from a guy who was held prisoner in yugoslavia after the war. he had a silver wound badge, and was missing a foot, so they made him a wooden boot, kind of like a dutch shoe, with leather from a german steifel added. i have his release papers, wound badge and infantry badge, and das boot. it is kind of a scary piece, but one of my favorite finds in the last few years for sure!
