I forgot the Italian SS
i) Sentire-Pensare-Volare by Sergio Corbatti and Marco Nava (the best book on Italian SS)

For the best book on Freikorps Danmark, check out Richard Landwehr's Siegrunen issue number 50. The basic refrence, really.
About Degrelle and the Wallonians, other than the one Panzermahn told us about, Degrelle's own memoir "Campaign in Russia", although heavily ideological, is also a source of information.
p.s., doesn't this belong in the books section?

Hi George,George Lepre wrote:Hi Panzermahn -
Thank your for the recommendation of my book.
I certainly agree with you regarding the "Cross of Burgundy" Kragenspiegel photo in Eddy's book. What an incredible Soldbuch.
Best regards,
George
Is it true that you are preparing a book about the Kama SS Division?
And your article on the mutiny at Villefrance based on the memoirs of Semso Alihodzic in Siegrunen 68 is very interesting!

I don't know about a whole book on Croatian Axis service, but I have just finished a book by Chris Bishop called 'SS:Hitler's Foreign Divisions - Foreign Volunteers in the Waffen-SS 1940-1945, and it was great! It only had about 6 pages specifically about Croatia, but it had a section on something I'd never heard of, maybe you haven't either - the Croatian Naval Legion!Rand wrote:Hey Croat,
Can you recommend any english language books on the Croatian involvement in WW2?

Hello from sunny Port Macquarie
My favorite of all time is Pour l'Europe by Robert Forbes, about the French. Magnifique!
There's also an interesting book by Christian de la Maziere about his oddyssey into the Charlemagne Division, and subsequent inprisonment in France. Very interesting. It's The Captive Dreamer later reissued as Ashes of Honour.

I would love to see some publication on these foreign volunteers units.
a) A good divisional history on the Skanderbeg SS Division. (I would love to see a picture of the goat head helmet kragenspiegeln!)
b) Foreign volunteers of the SD (Those enigmatic Estonian Einsetzkompanie men whon infiltrated Soviet demolitions Battalions and destroyed them from within in the Baltic States)
c) Foreign volunteers of the Abwehr (including those agents dropped behind enemy lines in Western and Eastern Front. There are even German Abwehr agents operating transmitter in Astrakhan in late 1944!)
d) Foreign volunteers in the NSKK, Kriegsmarine (Spaniards, Frenchmen, Scandinavians)

Hey,Benoit! Where did you get "For Croatia & Christ'' The Croatian Army in World War II 1941-1945"? I am really interested in getting one myself.
