Hmm. Come to think of it, I always wondered why Tom had a leprechaun and a hobbit assigned to his crew.

Kinda puts a whole new light on keeping a lucky rabbit's foot....

Well, a leprechaun carrying a pint of Guinness always comes in handy, don't you think? ... and hobbits ... well, they have nice legs :D

Lucky rabbit foot????? Now I wonder why my little rabbit is no more :(
King Shadow, Commissar, anyone? Help!

Hi,

Comrade, I will have a word in Papa Stalin's ear if I am not included in this story, dont think I wont!

Although, the idea of Freikorps Schottland does not appeal. I do however like the idea of a crewman in GD, or a mad Scottish POW!

Cheers,
Jock

Well, Ireland is certainly well-represented--why not Scotland!

Hmmm. Bagpipes will certainly annoy the glorious Red Army....

now i understand why commrade Commissar calls himself evil.....

you've got it all wrong, Russkies used green tracers. as a Commissar, you should know that.

nice job on capturing the feelings of those affected....

Za Rodina! (and good job)
Dragunov, who is also a politruk

PS my bro's trumpet playing would annoy the russians much more...

Pan Kommissar!
You may include me in your story if you wish. Instead of my experience near Raseinen in Lithuania, you could change the location to Prussia - somewhere near Lauban where my unit (GD) was located in spring 1945.

Rudi, I am quite honored and somewhat humbled by your post. To include you in a Forum Hero tale is simply an honor!

Now I'm beginning to feel the pressure! I hope my little writing can do justice to your very real experiences.

Thank you, my Friend! :D :D :D

David

Well, Rudi's vehicle was a StuG, so that's an easy one! Also, Rudi, in real life dueled with a JS-2, which is a hard one!

As we say in Ohio, "Better Him than Me!" I know this sounds harsh, but I think that Rudi understands my meaning.

But Willie, you've got your shotgun position, with my gratitude! :D

Now, all I have to do is write the damn thing....

A StuG versus a JS-2?!?!?

Even if I was writing the story, I wouldn't hold out much hope for the StuG! Those are just bad odds, anyway you look at it. I'm just glad Rudi was lucky that day!

I've a feeling, David, that your fiction won't hold a candle to Rudi's reality! Take that the way it's meant....
