Post by Karol98k »

Hi to all.
I have met verious versions of the contents of a german WWII zeltbahn tent set carried by each soldier. How many exactly poles and pegs were included? Would be very grateful for any help.

I have three sets of pegs and poles, all come in a carry bag. Each set has 3 pegs and 3 poles, and the poles can fit into each other to make 1 long pole. If you need pics, let me know, each kit has its differences. It would be no trouble to get you pics..........................Bruce [email protected]

Hi. Thanks for your help, but I know how such a set looked like (have one myself), and what were the variations of the poles and pegs. What I would like to know is if it was any official regulation as to the number of poles and pegs in one pouch/set.

Hello

We used exactly the same material in our Army so I can tell you that each set has 3 poles and 3 pegs and a Zeltschnur/cord. I could dig out some Dienstvorschriften that show you what funny things you can mount with enough Zeltbahnen besides the standard tent, really a most ingenious design.

Cheers

Use of shelter quarters

Hi,

Take a look at http://www.zeltbahn.net/use.htm for standard Zeltbahn use as described in the army regulations.
