BOOK REVIEW TIME!!

Post by sniper1shot »

Hello all, it is time for another book review as I see it.

Title: Slaughter house
Author: Too Many to List
Publisher: Aberjona Press
ISBN: 0-9717650-9-X
Stars:5
(out of 5)
OK, this book is for those that know everything or nothing about the Eastern Front. Seriously, it is all in one book. I was pleasantly surprised.
Chapters cover everything from the battles (in easy to follow terms), Bio's on German and Russian important ppl.(Very interesting and easy to follow), Orbats of both German and Russian units (incl allied units), and where these units fought and who were the commanders. And of course the weapons of both sides.
It is NOT a memoir but definately an easy to follow reasearch book. I personally found the bio section great. The photos are also great with some great photos. The weapon chapters cover the armour thickness, arty calibres etc etc.
Everything you want to know of the Eastern Front in WWII is in this book.
Highly recommended!!

John, by all means, visit http://www.aberjonapress.com Yes, I guess that's rather a shameless plug, but there are some good books to be had there. Some more coming, too!

Slaughter House

Post by Bittrich »

I bought my copy a few years ago along with "Hitler and His Generals". I particually like the section in Slaughter House about lesser known battles on the Eastern Front. The main ones such as Leningrad, Stalingrad, Kursk, etc. receive a fair amount of attention. It is good to see some of the lesser known get some attetion.
To those who fought reguardless of nationality
