Dear friends

I have added to the blog on my website, http://www.buttar.org.uk, with a daily entry 'On this day in 1945...' giving a brief synopsis of events as the Soviet offensive opened. I intend to carry it through to the end of the war. Please visit from time to time!

Finished reading it and thought it was a good book. I enjoyed reading the action reports for the various pockets as I was not well informed of the events.

Thanks

Masterpiece, very informative but yet friendly to read with many interesting personal accounts.

Dear all

I am delighted to let you all know that I have signed a deal for my next book. 'Between Giants: The Battle for the Baltics in World War II' will - I hope - be delivered to the publisher next spring, with a view to publication either at the end of 2012 or early 2013.

:D

Is it the same publisher, Prit? I must say I was impressed by Osprey's first foray into more detailed military history. They were helped by a rather fine manuscript, of course. :[]

It is Osprey again. I'm still trying to get them interested in publishing fiction

This subject is one of my favorites. I have some photographic material that may help, and I can get you in touch with friends of mine who can offer much more help. Let me know, if you are interested.

My apologies for not replying sooner. Yes, there are some first person accounts in the new book, but also a lot more 'hard research' than the first book. In many respects, it's a book without heroes. Neither of the two powers that occupied the Baltic States behaved well, and the citizens of the states themselves were forced to take sides in a fight that wasn't their own.

I'm currently working on my third book, about the Eastern Front again, but covering the fighting in 1914.

I've had the book for some time but just now using it for some serious research and finding I would like the additional maps. I note the URL above is quite dead.

Can anyone provide me with a alternate link, or perhaps knows where I can find the additional maps for this volume?
