How many copies have I sold? Not a clue. I know Normandy sold out its first run; the second run in hardback is still available, but I'm guessing most people will plump for the paperback.

The Germans in Normandy is now available in Danish ( ). First I knew of it was when four copies landed on my mat this morning (with a loud thud...) Not sure what to do with them as the only word of Danish I know is Carlsberg which, oddly, doesn't feature... :D

This chap seemed to like it (I did a quick Google translation...) at any rate.

Yes, that's a very positive review. Other than wanting more maps and photos, the reviewer didn't find anything to complain about. :D

More (and better) maps. More (and better) images. It definitely needs those. The text needs a lot of tightening up. I'd like to do a thorough re-write one day, a book that is half as thick again with additional material from Normandy, but encompassing Brittany and possibly also southern France. There's still a lot unwritten in English on the 1944 campaign from the German viewpoint.

Nicolai wrote:How many copies have you moved of your other two books, by the way? Writing military history doesn't seem to be very profitable (especially not the very specialized stuff, like books about award holders) unless your name is Antony Beevor or Cornelius Ryan.
At least 12,000 copies of the hardback of GiN as it's just gone into its third production run. Not sure about the paperback version. BU is still in its first run and no paperback is imminent. :( Shame, because it's such a better book...

A brief update.

Blitzkrieg Unleashed will finally be out in paperback at the end of October. It's less than half the price of the hardback in the USA.

http://www.amazon.com/Blitzkrieg-Unleas ... 687&sr=1-2

The Breslau project, provisionally titled Hitler's Last Fortress: Breslau 1945, will be published in the late summer of 2011 by Pen and Sword.

Currently actively working on/gathering material for '1942', an Endkampf project, and an anthology of first-hand accounts from 1939-45.

Blitzkrieg Unleashed is now out in paperback on both sides of the Pond. It's less than half the price of the hardback in the USA.

and

Aside from that, working on the maps and final proofing for Breslau for a late summer 2011 release and bogged down with tons (and I mean tons) of translation for my 1942 project (don't expect to see it before 2013/14  ).

I believe it's been printed, although I've not seen my copy yet - I usually get a batch a few days before the shops. I'll keep people posted. :[]
