It's Rememberance Day in some countries, Veteran's Day in ours. Either way, we owe to all who have served to never forget their sacrifices. Even those of us who came home sacrificed some, though not as dearly as so many that will never grow older.

A salute to my fellow veterans, of all nations, in the Feldgrau Community.

I was very moved by the Remembrance Service at the Cenotaph in London yesterday.

Laying wreaths were three of the last surviving British veterans of World War One.

Harry Patch aged 110 served in the infantry and fought at Ypres.

Henry Allingham, aged 112 (the oldest man in Europe!) is the last survivor of the Battle of Jutland, the last surviving member of the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) and the last surviving founding member of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

Bill Stone, aged 108, served in the Royal Navy in both World War One and World War Two.

As Harry poignantly remarked before the service: “It is important to remember the dead from both sides. Irrespective of the uniforms we wore, we were all victims”

Regards,

André

Hello Gents:
Oddly enough we just buried two local members of the military here. One was a female Sgt. in the Marine Corps, who apparently gave an order and was then murdered by one of her own men. The other was an Army Sgt. who was killed in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber dressed as a policeman. God bless them both and all of the rest, whatever their nationality.
