The storm breaks!

Spent the weekend war gaming Army Group North's invasion of the Baltic. As in reality the Soviets were completely overrun, not enough movement points to counter the quick paced German armoured thrust. Soviets sought to fight a delaying battle withdrawing in the face of overwhelming odds but just couldn't reposition quickly enough. Units were quickly bypassed and eventually gobbled up by the advancing German Infantry Divisions.
Glantz's 'Initial Period of War on the Eastern Front' was an invaluable guide to see the course of the real battle in 1941.
Tabletop game was GMT's 'Barbarossa - Army Group North, 1941. Scenario #4
cheers
