German aeroplanes' performance

Post by Rolf Steiner »

Hello all

Picked up one of those lovely 1970s Blandford reference books on WW1 fighters, something that struck me while thumbing through the pages is that the German fighters seldom seem to have matched the speed of allies' equivalents? Did they make up in manoeverability?

The Fokker three winged fighter did; with all of the surface area on its three (really four) wings it could turn on a dime. Not sure about the others. Best wishes.
