This section will be for discussion of the various social, political, and military events leading up to the war. Naturally, the war itself will also be discussed. Postwar information will be found here, but it is requested that posters at least attempt to see if postwar topics might belong in a more specific thread, such as the Reichswehr section.

Yes indeed, thank you! :D This will be a good addition for a better understanding of both WWII in particular and the 20th Century in general. And hopefully there will be many threads with interesting questions, informative answers and an occasional photo now and again...

Family members on my Father's side fought in the Great war wearing the uniform of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and I know painfully little about them (as in almost nothing :( ). But then again, we are all here to share and learn information...
