Kavallerie-Regiment 14.

Post by tigre »

Hello to all :D; A question...........................................

Parade at the garrison of the 14th Cavalry Regiment.

AFAIK..............

When the units were exposed, the regiment was renamed Reiter-Regiment 14. On October 6, 1936 renamed Kavallerie-Regiment 14 and subordinate to the XI. Army Corps. During the mobilization the regiment was disbanded and formed the reconnaissance detachments 19, 31 and 156 as well as parts of the reconnaissance detachment 171. The regiment also set up the cavalry replacement detachment 14 from the rest of the staff.

Regimental Commanders:
Colonel Karl Freiherr von Speidel March 1, 1933 - January 2, 1936
Colonel Philipp Kleffel April 1, 1936 – February 15, 1938
Colonel Friedemund von Arnim Feb. 15, 1938 - Dissolution

It looks more like oberst Freidmund von Arnim than Oberst Philip Kleffel.

The speaker holders the clasp to the WWI EK1 and it appears the front row of officers to the left of the photo have freshly awarded EK2s.

Did you get the photo album from Ebay Raul? I am sorry I missed it. I am interested in reiter regiment 14 and Philipp Kleffel.

Thanks from Vancouver,

Brian

Hello to all :D; more info..............................

11. Schütze-Brigade 1940.

According to a comrade from another forum, the first photo (above) shows the return of the 11. Schütze-Brigade after its return from France on July 12, 1940 greeted after a parade with a march past Erfurt Cathedral Square. In front with the bouquet of flowers, Oberst Anger. It is unknown to me how the 11. Schutze-Brig was mixed with the Kav. Rgt 14.
