Lonely Hunter!

Post by tigre »

Hello to all :D; a new topic here...................

Sharpshooters - Lonely Hunters.

Anyone can tell me something about the telescopic sights and weapons seen below? Were the sharpshooters attached to an infantry unit or were deployed alone? Were there differences between the employment doctrines in the Army and the Waffen SS?

Thanks. Cheers. Raúl M 8).

Hello Raul,

Both weapons appear to be K98 rifles, not sure about the top photo but the one below appears to show a ZF39, Zielfernrohr 39. There were many types used/available for the K98 and the smaller ZF4 for the later K43/G43 assault rifles.

Kind Regards,
Simon
