Heer Command Structures

Post by andy301 »

I've tried looking on the net for a few answers to the following with next to no luck, I hope someone can help please ?

1) Who would be in Command of a) a Platoon, b) a Company, c) a Battalion ?

2) Or to tie in with my question above what would the following junior officers/NCO/Field Officers actually be in command of ?

Gefreiter
Obergefreiter
Unteroffizier
Oberfeldwebel
Leutnant
Oberleutnant
Hauptmann
Major
Oberstleutnant
Oberst

These might well be simple questions but im struggling to find any definative answers.

Any help appreciated.

a batallion :normally a colonel/lieutenant colonel,or major,sometimes temporarily a captain .
a company:normally a captain,some times a lieutenant
a platoon :normally a lieutenant ,some times a NCO=an oberfeldwebel,unteroffizier,...
There are no definitive answers:all is depending from the circumstances .(a colonel could-temporarily- command a division)

go to http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/

look at KStN

click on Was sind Stellengruppen?

then look at the KStN and you will see what rank group commanded what.
